Winery of the Week: AronHill Vineyards

Judy Aron founded AronHill Vineyards in 1997, and she infuses her passion, drive, and dedication throughout the winery and its wines. An accomplished horsewoman since childhood, her grapes are nurtured with same intention, oversight, and precise attention as she lavishes on her horses. Judy says, “My grapes are like my fillies, chosen from excellent stock and emanating from a substantive lineage.” And she merges her two passions, horses and wine, at the estate and in the name and on the label of every bottle of AronHill wines.
Part of the Paso Robles AVA, AronHill tasting room is located in the Templeton Gap at the junction of Hwy 46 west and Vineyard Drive. Estate vines grow on a beautiful Templeton hillside, nurtured by Lupe, AronHill’s resident vineyard keeper. Winemaker Mikel Olsten and Viticulture Manager Richard Sauret turn these magnificent grapes into award winning wines: Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Estate Quatre Melange, Estate Primitivo , Vinho Doce “Unbridled Passion,” and two summer wines: Estate Chardonnay and Estate PrimRose. AronHill wines are fruit-forward, full bodied and rich in color. Judy says, “Among our award winning wines we have 3 Best of Class vintages to share.”

Chef Marco prepares lunch with fresh organic and local farm-to-table ingredients at AronHill from 11:30 to 4:00 daily, and the tasting room is open 11:00-5:00. Dine on the deck or in the tasting room by the fire. Check the website for holiday hours.
